શહેરમાં લોકો ભારે ભૂખમરો વેઠતા હતા. દુકાળ એટલો લાંબો ચાલ્યો હતો કે ગધેડાનું 1 માંથું ચાંદીના 80 સિક્કામાં વેચાતું હતું. પા કિલો “કબૂતરની અઘારના”5 ચાંદીના સિક્કા વચાંવી હતી.
