2 Chronicles 33:2
ઇસ્રાએલીઓને ખાતર યહોવાએ જે પ્રજાઓને હાંકી કાઢી હતી તે પ્રજાઓના ધૃણાજનક આચારોનું અનુસરણ કરી તેણે યહોવાની ષ્ટિએ અયોગ્ય ગણાય એવું આચરણ કર્યુ.

“જે પ્રજાઓનું સ્થાન તમે લઈ રહ્યા છો તે પ્રજાઓ જોષીઓ તથા શુકન અપશુકન જોનારાઓની વાત કાને ધરે છે, પણ તમને તો તમાંરા દેવ યહોવા એવી છૂટ આપતા નથી.

તેઓ જે રીતે પોતાના દેવોની પૂજા કરે છે તે રીતે તમાંરે તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાની ઉપાસના કરવી નહંી, કારણ કે, તેઓ પોતાના દેવો માંટે જે કંઈ કરે છે તે યહોવાની દૃષ્ટિેએ ધિક્કારજનક અને ધૃણાને પાત્ર છે. તેઓ પોતાના દેવોની સમક્ષ પોતાના પુત્રો તથા પુત્રીઓને સુદ્ધંા બલિઓ તરીકે હોમી દે છે.

Leviticus 20:22
“તમાંરે માંરા તમાંમ વિધિઓ અને નિયમોનું પાલન કરવું અને તેને અનુસરવું; હું તમને તમાંરા નવા દેશમાં લઈ જઈશ અને તમે માંરા કાયદાઓ અને નિયમોનું પાલન કરશો તો તે દેશ તમને હાંકી કાઢશે નહિ.

Leviticus 18:24
“આમાંની કોઈ પણ રીતે તમાંરે તમાંરી જાતને અશુદ્ધ ન કરવી. હું જે પ્રજાઓને તમાંરા માંટે સ્થાન ખાલી કરવા હાંકી કાઢનાર છું તેઓ આવી રીતે અશુદ્ધ થયેલ પ્રજા છે.
