પછી દેશના બધા લોકોએ બઆલના મંદિરે જઈ તેને તોડી પાડયું. તેમણે તેની વેદીઓ અને મૂર્તિઓ તોડી નાખી અને બઆલના યાજક માત્તાનને વેદીઓ સામે જ મારી નાખ્યો.યાજકે યહોવાના મંદિરનું રક્ષણ કરવા માટે ચોકીદારો ગોઠવી દીધા.

Deuteronomy 13:5
જે પ્રબોધક અથવા સ્વપ્નદૃષ્ટા તમને લોકોને તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાથી દૂર લઈ જવા પ્રયત્ન કરે તેને મૃત્યુ તરફ ધકેલો, તેના પર સહાનુભૂતિ અનુભવવી નહિ. કારણ કે, તે જેણે તમને ગુલામીમાંથી મુકત કર્યા અને મિસરમાંથી આઝાદ કર્યા. તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાની સામે બળવો કરવાનું કહે છે. એ તમને તમાંરા દેવ યહોવાએ જે માંગેર્ જવાનું જણાવ્યું છે તે માંગેર્થી ચલિત કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરે છે. તમાંરી વચ્ચેથી તમાંરે એ અનિષ્ટ દૂર કરવું જ જોઈએ.
Zechariah 13:2
“અનેે તે દિવસે હું દેશમાંથી મૂર્તિઓનું નામોનિશાન સંપૂર્ણપણે મિટાવી દઇશ. મૂર્તિઓને કોઇ યાદ નહિ કરે. પ્રત્યેક જૂઠા પ્રબોધક અને અશુદ્ધ આત્માને દૂર કરવામાં આવશે.

અને બીજી મૂર્તિઓ તો બિલકુલ સમાપ્ત થઇ જશે.

હવે પછી કોઈ પણ વ્યકિત પોતાના પુત્ર કે પુત્રીને મારી નાખીને તેનું બલિદાન તરીકે અર્પણ ન કરી શકે, કારણકે રાજાએ બેન-હિન્નોમની ખીણમાં આવેલી તોફેથની વેદીને પણ તોડી પાડી હતી.

યેહૂએ પોતાના મદદનીશ બિદકારને કહ્યું, “એને ઉપાડીને નાબોથના ખેતરમાં નાખી દે. યાદ છે, તું અને હું એના બાપ આહાબની પાછળ પાછળ ઘોડે બેસીને આવતા હતા ત્યારે યહોવાએ તેની વિરૂદ્ધ એવી દેવવાણી ઉચ્ચારી હતી ને યાદ કર. યહોવા કહે છે;

પછી તે લોકોએ જે વાછરડું બનાવ્યું હતું તે લઈને તેણે અગ્નિમાં ઓગળાવી નાખ્યું. પછી તેનો વાટીને ભૂકો કરી નાખ્યો અને તે પાણીમાં ભભરાવી ઇસ્રાએલીઓને પાઈ દીધો.
