1 Samuel 29:2
જયારે પલિસ્તીઓ અને તેઓના સરદારો પોતાની સો સો અને હજાર હજારની પલટણો લઈને કૂચ કરતા હતા ત્યારે દાઉદ અને તેના માંણસો આખીશ રાજાની સાથે લશ્કરના પાછલા ભાગે કૂચ કરતા હતા.

આખીશે દાઉદને તેડાવ્યા બાદ કહ્યું, “હું તમને યહોવાના નામે કહું છું કે તું મને વફાદાર છે. તને માંરી સેનામાં નોકરીમાં રાખવા મને પ્રસન્નતા થશે. જ્યારથી તું માંરી સૅંથે જોડાયો છે, મને તારામાં કોઇ દોષ દેખાયો નથી. તું એક સારો અને બહાદુર મૅંણસ છે. હું માંનું છું કે તારે અમાંરી સૅંથે આવવું જોઈએ. પણ અમલદારો તને માંન્ય રાખતા નથી.
