આ ઘટના પછી પણ યરોબઆમે પોતાનું દુષ્ટ આચરણ છોડયું નહિ. પણ તેણે ઉચ્ચસ્થાનો માંટે કોઈ પણ કુળસમૂહના લોકોમાંથી યાજક તરીકે નીમવાનું ચાલું રાખ્યું. જે કોઈ યાજક થવા તૈયાર થતો તેને તે ઉચ્ચસ્થાન પરનાં મંદિરનો યાજક નીમતો.
