શાઉલે પોતાના દરબારીઓને કહ્યું, “તમે ખાનગી રીતે દાઉદને એમ કહો કે, ‘રાજા તારા ઉપર ઘણા પ્રસન્ન છે અને રાજાના બધા અમલદારો પણ તારા પર પ્રેમભાવ રાખે છે. રાજાના જમાંઈ થવા માંટે તારા માંટે આ ખરો સમય છે.”‘
