And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

ஐயோ! மெல்லிய ஆடையும் இரத்தாம்பரமும் சிவப்பாடையும் அணிந்து, பொன்னினாலும் இரத்தினங்களினாலும் முத்துக்களினாலும் சிங்காரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மகா நகரமே! ஒரே மணிநேரத்தில் எல்லாச் செல்வமும் அழிந்துபோனதே! என்று சொல்லி, அழுது துக்கத்தோடு இருப்பார்கள்.
