Every thing that opens the womb in all flesh, which they bring unto the LORD, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be yours: nevertheless the firstborn of man shall you surely redeem, and the first born of unclean beasts shall you redeem.

“ஒரு பெண்ணின் முதல் குழந்தையும் ஒரு மிருகத்தின் முதல் குட்டியும் கர்த்தருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும். அந்த விலங்கின் முதலீற்று தீட்டுள்ளதாக இருந்தால் கொடுப்பவரே அதைத் திரும்ப விலைக்கு வாங்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். முதலில் பிறந்த குழந்தை காணிக்கையாகக் கொடுக்கப்படும்போது அதுவும் திரும்ப வாங்கப்பட வேண்டும். அப்பொழுது அக்குழந்தை மறுபடியும் அதே குடும்பத்திற்கு உரியதாகிவிடும்.
