Nehemiah 9:17
And refused to obey, neither were mindful of your wonders that you did among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsook them not.

அவர்கள் கற்பனைகளைக் கேட்க மனமில்லாமலும், அவர்களிடத்திலே நீர் செய்த உம்முடைய அற்புதங்களை நினைக்காமலும் போய், தங்களுடைய கழுத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தி, தங்களுடைய அடிமைத்தனத்திற்குத் திரும்ப அவர்கள் கலகம்செய்து, ஒரு தலைவனை ஏற்படுத்தினார்கள்; ஆகிலும் முழுவதும் மன்னிக்கிறவரும், இரக்கமும் மனஉருக்கமும், நீடிய சாந்தமும், மகா கிருபையுமுள்ளவருமான தேவனாகிய நீர் அவர்களைக் கைவிடவில்லை.

அவர்கள் கவனிக்க மறுத்தனர். நீர் செய்த அற்புதங்களை மறந்தனர். அவர்கள் எகிப்திற்கு மீண்டும் சென்று அடிமைகளாகத் தலைவரை அமர்த்தினார்கள்! “ஆனால் நீர் மன்னிக்கிற தேவன்! நீர் கருணையும் மிகுந்த இரக்கமும் உடையவர்‌. நீர் பொறுமையும் முழு அன்பும் உடையவர். எனவே நீர் அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகவில்லை.
