Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.

பேதுரு அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: உமதுநிமித்தம் எல்லோரும் இடறலடைந்தாலும், நான் ஒருபோதும் இடறலடையமாட்டேன் என்றான்.

அதற்கு பேதுரு, “மற்ற எல்லாச் சீஷர்களும் தங்கள் விசுவாசத்தை இழக்கலாம். ஆனால், ஒரு போதும் என் விசுவாசத்தை இழக்கமாட்டேன்” என்று கூறினான்.
