He says, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What think you, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

அதற்குப் பேதுரு “ஆம், அவர் அந்த வரியைச் செலுத்துகிறார்” எனப் பதிலளித்தான். இயேசு தங்கியிருந்த வீட்டிற்குள் பேதுரு சென்றான். அவன் வாயைத் திறக்கும் முன்னமே, இயேசு, “மண்ணுலகில் இருக்கும் இராஜாக்கள் பலவகையான வரிகளை மக்களிடமிருந்து வசூலிக்கிறார்கள். வரி செலுத்துகிறவர்கள் யார்? அரசனின் பிள்ளைகள் வரி செலுத்துகிறார்களா? அல்லது மற்றவர்கள் வரி செலுத்துகிறார்களா? நீ என்ன நினைக்கிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
