Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இப்படி இருக்கிறபடியால், பரலோகராஜ்யத்திற்கு அடுத்தவைகளில் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டுத் தேறின வேதபண்டிதன் எவனும் தன் பொக்கிஷத்திலிருந்து புதியவைகளையும் பழையவைகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொடுக்கிற வீட்டெஜமானாகிய மனிதனுக்கு ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறான் என்றார்.

பின்பு இயேசு தம் சீஷர்களிடம், “பரலோக இராஜ்யத்தைப்பற்றி அறிந்த வேதபாரகர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு வீட்டின் சொந்தக்காரனைப் போன்றவர்கள். வீட்டின் சொந்தக்காரன் தன் வீட்டில் புதியதும் பழையதுமான பொருட்களைச் சேமித்து வைத்திருக்கிறான். அவன் புதியதும் பழையதுமான பொருட்களைக் கொண்டு வருகிறான்” என்றார்.
