He answers and says unto them, He that has two coats, let him impart to him that has none; and he that has food, let him do likewise.

அவர்களுக்கு அவன் மறுமொழியாக: இரண்டு மேலாடையை வைத்திருக்கிறவன், ஒன்றும் இல்லாதவனுக்கு அதில் ஒன்றைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; உணவு வைத்திருப்பவனும் அப்படியே செய்யவேண்டும் என்றான்.

அவர்களுக்கு யோவான், “உங்களிடம் இரண்டு மேலாடைகள் இருந்தால், ஒரு மேலாடைகூட இல்லாத மனிதனுக்கு ஒன்றைக் கொடுங்கள். உங்களிடம் உணவிருந்தால் அதையும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்று பதிலுரைத்தான்.
