அவர்களெல்லோரும் சாக்குப்போக்குச்சொல்லத் தொடங்கினார்கள். ஒருவன்: ஒரு வயலை வாங்கியிருக்கிறேன், நான் கட்டாயமாகப்போய் அதைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும், என்னை மன்னிக்கும்படி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறேன் என்றான்.

ஆனால் அந்த விருந்தினர்கள் எல்லாம் தம்மால் வர இயலாது எனச் சொல்லி அனுப்பினார்கள். ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஏதேனும் ஒரு சாக்குப்போக்கு கூறினார்கள். முதலாமவன், ‘நான் ஒரு வயலை வாங்கியுள்ளேன். அதைப் பார்க்கப் போகவேண்டும். தயவுசெய்து மன்னிக்கவும்’ என்றான்.
