Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground?

தோட்டத்தைக் கண்காணித்து வந்த வேலைக்காரன் ஒருவன் அம்மனிதனுக்கு இருந்தான். அம்மனிதன் வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி, ‘மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாக இந்த மரத்தில் பழங்களுக்காகப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் ஒன்றும் என் கண்ணில் படவில்லை. அதை வெட்டி வீழ்த்திவிடு. எதற்கு அது நிலத்தைப் பாழ்படுத்த வேண்டும்?’ என்றான்.
