Lamentations 4:17
As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.

இன்னும் எங்களுக்கு உதவி வருமென்று நாங்கள் வீணாக எதிர்பார்த்திருந்ததினாலே எங்களுடைய கண்கள் பூத்துப்போயின; காப்பாற்றமுடியாத மக்களுக்காக எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தோம்.

நாங்கள் உதவிக்காகக் காத்திருந்து எங்கள் கண்கள் களைத்துப் பழுதாயிற்று. ஆனால் எந்த உதவியும் வரவில்லை. எங்களைக் காப்பாற்றப் போகிற ஒரு தேசத்திற்காக நாங்கள் காத்திருந்தோம். நாங்கள் பார்வை கோபுரத்திலிருந்து பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தோம். ஆனால் எந்தத் தேசமும் எங்களுக்கு உதவ வரவில்லை.
