And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If all of you bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?

அதற்கு யெப்தா: அம்மோன் மக்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்ய, நீங்கள் என்னைத் திரும்ப அழைத்துப்போனபின்பு, கர்த்தர் அவர்களை எனக்கு முன்பாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தால், என்னை உங்களுக்குத் தலைவனாக வைப்பீர்களா என்று கீலேயாத்தின் மூப்பரைக் கேட்டான்.
