Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.

சேராவின் மகனாகிய ஆகான் சாபத்தீடானப் பொருளைக்குறித்துத் துரோகம்செய்ததினாலே, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின்மேல் கடுங்கோபம் வரவில்லையா? அவன் ஒருவன்மட்டும் தன்னுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினாலே மடிந்துபோகவில்லையென்று கர்த்தருடைய சபையார்கள் எல்லோரும் சொல்லச்சொன்னார்கள் என்றார்கள்.

“சேராவின் மகனாகிய ஆகான் என்ற மனிதனை ஞாபகப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள். அழிக்கப் படவேண்டிய பொருட்களைப் பற்றிய கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய அவன் மறுத்தான். அந்த ஒரு மனிதன் தேவனின் கட்டளையை மீறினான், ஆனால் இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லோரும் தண்டிக்கப்பட்டனர். ஆகான் தன் பாவத்திற்காக மரித்தான். ஆனால் மற்றும் பலரும் மரிக்க நேரிட்டது” என்று எல்லா இஸ்ரவேலரும் உங்களிடம் கேட்கிறார்கள் என்றனர்.
