When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate says unto them, Take all of you him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் யூதக் காவலர்களும் இயேசுவைக் கண்டவுடன் “அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையுங்கள்” என்று சத்தமிட்டனர். ஆனால் பிலாத்துவோ, “நீங்கள் அவனை அழைத்துப்போய் நீங்களாகவே அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையுங்கள். நான் தண்டனை தரும்படியாக இவனுக்கு எதிராக எந்த குற்றத்தையும் கண்டு பிடிக்கவில்லை” என்று கூறிவிட்டான்.
