But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate says unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

அதற்கு யூதர்கள், “அவனை அப்புறப்படுத்துங்கள்! அவனை அப்புறப்படுத்துங்கள்! அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்து கொல்லுங்கள்” என்று சத்தமிட்டனர். அவர்களிடம் பிலாத்து, “உங்களது அரசனை நான் சிலுவையில் அறைந்து கொல்ல வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்குத் தலைமை ஆசாரியன், “எங்களது ஒரே அரசர் இராயன் மட்டுமே” என்று பதில் சொன்னான்.
