Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare your people, O LORD, and give not yours heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

கர்த்தரின் ஊழியக்காரர்களாகிய ஆசாரியர்கள் மண்டபத்திற்கும் பலிபீடத்திற்கும் நடுவே அழுது: கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உமது மக்களைத் தப்பவிட்டு அந்நிய மக்கள் அவர்களைப் பழிக்கும் நிந்தைக்கு உமது மக்களை ஒப்புக்கொடாதிரும்; உங்கள் தேவன் எங்கே என்று அந்நியமக்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லப்படுவானேன் என்பார்களாக.

மண்டபத்துக்கும் பலிபீடத்திற்கும் இடையில் நின்று ஆசாரியர்களும், கர்த்தருடைய பணியாளர்களும் அழுது புலம்பட்டும். அந்த ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் இவற்றைச் சொல்லவேண்டும். “கர்த்தாவே, உமது ஜனங்கள் மீது இரக்கம் காட்டும். உமது ஜனங்களை அவமானப்பட விடாதிரும். மற்ற ஜனங்கள் உமது ஜனங்களைக் கேலிச்செய்யும்படி விடாதிரும். மற்ற நாடுகளின் ஜனங்கள் ‘அவர்கள் தேவன் எங்கே இருக்கிறார்?’ என்று கேட்டுச் சிரிக்கும்படிச் செய்யாதிரும்.”
