Jeremiah 7:32
Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

ஆதலால், இதோ, நாட்கள் வருமென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; அப்பொழுது அது அப்புறம் தோப்பேத் என்றும், இன்னோம் மகனின் பள்ளத்தாக்கென்றும் சொல்லப்படாமல், அழிவின் பள்ளத்தாக்கென்று சொல்லப்படும்; தோப்பேத்தில் இடம் கிடைக்காமற்போகும்வரை பிணங்களை அடக்கம் செய்வார்கள்.

எனவே, நான் உன்னை எச்சரிக்கிறேன். நாட்கள் வந்துகொண்டிருக்கின்றன” என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். “ஜனங்கள் இந்த இடத்தை தொப்பேத் என்னும் இன்னோமின் பள்ளத்தாக்கு என்று அழைக்கப்போவதில்லை. அவர்கள் இதனை ‘சங்காரப் பள்ளத்தாக்கு’ என்று அழைப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் இதற்கு இந்தப் பெயரை இடுவார்கள். ஏனென்றால் மரித்தவர்களை அவர்கள் தோப்பேத்தில் இனி புதைக்க இடமில்லை என்று கூறுமளவுக்குப் புதைப்பார்கள்.
