Thus says the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.

பாபிலோனின் அகலமான மதில்கள் முற்றிலும் தரையாக்கப்பட்டு, அதின் உயரமான இடங்கள் நெருப்பால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும்; அப்படியே மக்கள் பிரயாசப்பட்டது வீணும், மக்கள் வருத்தப்பட்டுச் சம்பாதித்தது நெருப்புக்கு இரையுமாகும் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
