Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that gives rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

அந்தந்தப் பருவத்தில் எங்களுக்கு மழையையும், முன்மாரியையும் பின்மாரியையும் கொடுத்து, அறுப்புக்கு நியமித்த வாரங்களை எங்களுக்குத் தற்காக்கிற எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்திருப்போம் என்று அவர்கள் தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லுகிறதில்லை.

யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் தங்களுக்குள் இவ்வாறு சொல்லமாட்டார்கள். ‘எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு பயப்படுவோம், மரியாதை செய்வோம். நமக்கு அவர் சரியான காலங்களில் மழையையும், முன்மாரியையும், பின்மாரியையும் கொடுக்கிறார். நாம் சரியான காலத்தில் அறுவடையைப் பெறுவோம்’ என்று அவர் உறுதி செய்கிறார்.
