Jeremiah 36:31
And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.

நான் அவனிடத்திலும், அவன் சந்ததியினிடத்திலும், அவன் பிரபுக்களினிடத்திலும் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை விசாரித்து, அவன்மேலும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள்மேலும், யூதா மனிதர்மேலும், நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னதும், அவர்கள் கேளாமற்போனதுமான தீங்குகளையெல்லாம் வரச்செய்வேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

கர்த்தராகிய நான், யோயாக்கீமையும் அவனது பிள்ளைகளையும் தண்டிப்பேன். அவனது அதிகாரிகளையும் நான் தண்டிப்பேன். நான் இவற்றைச் செய்வேன். ஏனென்றால் அவர்கள் துன்மார்க்கர்கள். பயங்கரமான பேரழிவு அவர்களுக்குக் கொண்டுவருவதாக நான் வாக்குறுதி செய்திருக்கிறேன். எருசலேமில் வாழ்கிற ஜனங்களுக்கும் யூதாவில் வாழ்கிற ஜனங்களுக்கும் வரும். நான் வாக்குறுதி அளித்தபடி அவர்களுக்கு அனைத்து தீயவற்றையும் கொண்டு வருவேன். ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள் நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்கவில்லை.’”
