Jeremiah 17:8
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

அவன் தண்ணீர் அருகில் நாட்டப்பட்டதும், கால்வாய் ஓரமாகத் தன் வேர்களை விடுகிறதும், வெயில் வருகிறதைக் காணாமல் இலை பச்சையாயிருக்கிறதும், மழைகுறைவான வருடத்திலும் வருத்தமில்லாமல் தவறாமல் பழங்களைக் கொடுக்கிறதுமான மரத்தைப்போலிருப்பான்.

அந்த மனிதன் தண்ணீர்க்கரையில் நடப்பட்ட மரத்தைப்போன்ற பலத்தோடு இருப்பான். அந்த மரம் தண்ணீரைக் கண்டுக்கொள்கிற வேர்களை உடையதாக இருக்கும். அந்த மரம் கோடைகாலம் வரும்போது உலர்ந்து போவதில்லை. அதன் இலைகள் எப்போதும் பசுமையாக இருக்கும். மழைப் பெய்யாத ஆண்டுகளில் அது கவலைப்படுவதில்லை. அந்த மரம் எப்பொழுதும் பழங்களை உற்பத்தி செய்யும்.
