Jeremiah 17:5
Thus says the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.

மனிதன்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்து, மாம்சமானதைத் தன் புயபலமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தரைவிட்டு விலகுகிற இருதயமுள்ள மனிதன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

கர்த்தர் இவற்றைக் கூறுகிறார்: “மற்ற ஜனங்கள் மீது மட்டும் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கின்றவர்களுக்கு தீமை ஏற்படும். மற்ற ஜனங்களை பலத்துக்காகச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்குத் தீமை ஏற்படும். ஏனென்றால், அந்த ஜனங்கள் கர்த்தர் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைப்பதை நிறுத்தினார்கள்.
