If you turn away your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shall honour him, not doing yours own ways, nor finding yours own pleasure, nor speaking yours own words:

ஓய்வுநாளில் தேவனுடைய சட்டத்திற்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்வதை எப்பொழுது நீ நிறுத்துகிறாயோ அப்போது இது நிகழும். அந்தச் சிறப்பு நாளில் உன்னை நீயே திருப்திபடுத்திக்கொள்ளும் செயல்கள் செய்வதை எப்பொழுது நிறுத்துவாயோ, அப்போது இது நடக்கும். ஓய்வுநாளை மகிழ்ச்சியான நாள் என்றும் நீ எண்ணவேண்டும். கர்த்தருடைய சிறப்பான நாளை நீ மகிமைப்படுத்த வேண்டும். மற்ற நாட்களில் நீ சொல்வதையும், செய்வதையும் அந்தச் சிறப்புநாளில் செய்யாமல் நீ அதனை மகிமைப்படுத்தவேண்டும்.
