Therefore hear now this, you that are given to pleasures, that dwell carelessly, that says in yours heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

இப்பொழுதும் சுகசெல்வியே, கவலையில்லாமல் வாழ்கிறவளே: நான்தான், என்னைத்தவிர ஒருவருமில்லை; நான் விதவையாவதில்லை, நான் சந்ததி சேதத்தை அறிவதில்லையென்று உன் இருதயத்திலே சொல்கிறவளே, நான் சொல்கிறதைக் கேள்.

எனவே, மெல்லிய இயல்புடைய பெண்ணே! இப்போது என்னைக் கவனி! நீ பாதுகாப்பை உணருகிறாய், ‘நான் மட்டுமே முக்கியமானவள். என்னைப் போன்று முக்கியமானவள் எவருமில்லை. நான் எப்போதும் விதவை ஆவதில்லை நான் எப்போதும் பிள்ளைகளைக் கொண்டிருப்பேன்’ என்று நீ சொல்கிறாய்.

இப்பொழுதும் சுகசெல்வியே, விசாரமில்லாமல் வாழ்கிறவளே; நான்தான் என்னைத்தவிர ஒருவருமில்லை; நான் விதவையாவதில்லை, நான் சந்தான சேதத்தை அறிவதில்லையென்று உன் இருதயத்திலே சொல்லுகிறவளே, நான் சொல்லுகிறதைக் கேள்.
