And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; in order to morrow we shall die.

ஆனால், பார்! ஜனங்கள் இப்பொழுது மகிழ்ச்சியோடு இருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் சந்தோஷமாய் கொண்டாடுகிறார்கள். ஜனங்கள் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: “ஆடுகளையும் மாடுகளையும் கொல்லுங்கள். நாம் கொண்டாடுவோம். உங்கள் உணவை உண்ணுங்கள். திராட்சைரசத்தைக் குடியுங்கள். உண்ணுங்கள் குடியுங்கள். ஏனென்றால், நாளை மரித்துவிடுவோம்” என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
