And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

பிறகு சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தர் அசீரியாவை ஒரு சவுக்கால் அடிப்பார். கடந்த காலத்தில், கர்த்தர் மீதியானியர்களை காகத்தின் பாறை அருகில் தோற்கடித்தார். கர்த்தர் அசீரியாவைத் தாக்குவதுப்போல் இருக்கும். முன்பு கர்த்தர் எகிப்தைத் தண்டித்தார். அவர் தன் தடியைக் கடலுக்குமேல் ஓங்கினார். தம் ஜனங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்து வந்தார். அது அசீரியாவிலிருந்து கர்த்தர் தம் ஜனங்களைக் காப்பாற்றியது போலவே இருக்கும்.
