And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shall you say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

மேலும், தேவன் மோசேயை நோக்கி: ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும், ஈசாக்கின் தேவனும், யாக்கோபின் தேவனுமாக இருக்கிற உங்கள் முன்னோர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னை உங்களிடம் அனுப்பினார் என்று நீ இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு சொல்; என்றைக்கும் இதுவே என்னுடைய நாமம், தலைமுறை தலைமுறைதோறும் இதுவே என்றென்றைக்கும் என்னுடைய நாமம்.

மோசேயிடம் தேவன் மீண்டும், “இஸ்ரவேலர்களிடம், நீ சொல்ல வேண்டியது இதுதான்: ‘உங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனும், ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும், ஈசாக்கின் தேவனும், யாக்கோபின் தேவனுமானவர் யேகோவா என்பவர் ஆவார். என் பெயரும் எப்பொழுதும் யேகோவா ஆகும். அப்பெயரில்தான் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக ஜனங்கள் என்னை அறிவார்கள். யேகோவா என்னை உங்களிடம் அனுப்பினார்’ என்று ஜனங்களிடம் சொல்” என்றார்.
