Exodus 21:6
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.

அவனுடைய எஜமான் அவனை நியாயாதிபதிகளிடம் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவனைக் கதவின் அருகிலாவது கதவுநிலையின் அருகிலாவது சேரச்செய்து, அங்கே அவனுடைய எஜமான் அவனுடைய காதைக் கம்பியினால் குத்தவேண்டும்; பின்பு அவன் என்றைக்கும் அவனிடம் வேலைசெய்துகொண்டிருக்கவேண்டும்.

இவ்வாறு நிகழ்ந்தால், எஜமான் அடிமையைத் தேவனுடைய சந்நிதானத்தில் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும். எஜமான் அடிமையை ஒரு வாசலருகே அல்லது வாசலின் நிலைக்காலின் அருகே அழைத்துச் சென்று, அடிமையின் காதில் கூர்மையான கருவியால் ஒரு துளை போடவேண்டும். அப்போது அடிமை தன் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் எஜமானுக்கு தொண்டு செய்வான்.

அவன் எஜமான் அவனை நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவனைக் கதவின் அருகேயாவது கதவுநிலையின் அருகேயாவது சேரப்பண்ணி, அங்கே அவன் எஜமான் அவன் காதைக் கம்பியினாலே குத்தக்கடவன்; பின்பு அவன் என்றைக்கும் அவனிடத்திலே சேவித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கக்கடவன்.
