But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவன் தன் சொந்த ஊரிலும், தன் உறவினர்களிலும், தன் வீட்டிலும்தான் மதிக்கப்படமாட்டான். மற்ற எல்லா இடங்களிலும் மதிக்கப்படுவான் என்றார்.

இயேசு மக்களைப் பார்த்து, “ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை மற்ற மக்களே மரியாதை செய்வர். ஆனால் அவர் சொந்த ஊரில் சொந்த மக்களிடம் சொந்த வீட்டில் மரியாதை பெறுவதில்லை” என்றார்.
