Ecclesiastes 8:9
All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man rules over another to his own hurt.

இவையெல்லாவற்றையும் நான் பார்த்து, சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே செய்யப்படும் எல்லா செயல்களையும் சிந்தித்தேன்; ஒரு மனிதன் தனக்கே கேடுண்டாக வேறொரு மனிதனை ஆளுகிற காலமும் உண்டு.

நான் அனைத்தையும் பார்த்தேன். உலகில் நடைபெறுகிற அத்தனையையும் பற்றி நான் கடுமையாகச் சிந்தித்தேன். ஜனங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் மற்றவர்களை ஆள்வதற்கான வல்லமையைப் பெறுவதற்காகப் போராடுகிறார்கள் என்பதை நான் பார்த்தேன். இது அவர்களுக்குக் கெட்டது.
