Daniel 4:19
Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate you, and the interpretation thereof to yours enemies.

அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பெயருள்ள தானியேல் சற்றுநேரம் திகைத்துச் சிந்தித்துக் கலங்கினான். ராஜா அவனை நோக்கி: பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே, கனவும் அதின் அர்த்தமும் உன்னைக் கலங்கச்செய்யவேண்டியதில்லை என்றான்; அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சார் மறுமொழியாக: என் எஜமானனே, அந்தச் கனவு உம்முடைய பகைவர்களிடத்திலும், அதின் அர்த்தம் உம்முடைய எதிரிகளிடத்திலும் பலிக்கக்கடவது.

தானியேல் (பெல்தெஷாத்சார்) ஒருமணி நேரத்திற்கு மிகவும் அமைதியாக இருந்தான். அவனது சிந்தனை அவனைப் பாதித்தது. எனவே, அரசன் அவனிடம்: “பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே (தானியேல்) கனவோ அல்லது அதன் பொருளோ உன்னைக் கலங்கப் பண்ண வேண்டியதில்லை” என்றான். பிறகு பெல்தெஷாத்சார் (தானியேல்) அரசனுக்குப் பதில் சொன்னான். என் எஜமானரே! அந்தக் கனவு உமது பகைவரைக் குறித்ததாய் இருக்க வேண்டும் என நான் விரும்புகிறேன். அந்தக் கனவின் பொருளும் உமக்கு விரோதமானவர்களைக் குறித்ததாக இருக்கவேண்டுமென நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.
