Amos 8:11
Behold, the days come, says the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

இதோ, நான் தேசத்தின்மேல் பஞ்சத்தை அனுப்பும் நாட்கள் வரும்; ஆகாரக்குறைவினால் உண்டாகிய பஞ்சமல்ல, தண்ணீர்குறைவினால் உண்டாகிய தாகமுமல்ல, கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் கேட்கக் கிடைக்காத பஞ்சத்தை அனுப்புவேன் என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார்: “பார், தேசத்தின் மேல் பஞ்சத்தை அனுப்பும் நாட்கள் வரும். ஜனங்கள் அப்பத்துக்காகப் பசித்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள். தண்ணீருக்காகத் தவித்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள். இல்லை, கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வரும் வார்த்தைகளுக்காக ஜனங்கள் பசியோடு இருப்பார்கள்.
