For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nothing.

ஏனென்றால், இந்த நாட்களுக்கு முன்னே தெயுதாஸ் என்பவன் எழும்பி, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனாகப் பாராட்டினான்; ஏறக்குறைய நானூறுபேர் அவனிடத்தில் சேர்ந்தார்கள்; அவன் மரித்துப்போனான்; அவனை நம்பின அனைவரும் சிதறிப்போனார்கள்.

எப்போது தெயுதாஸ் தோன்றினான் என்பதை நினைவு கூருகிறீர்களா? அவன் தன்னை ஒரு முக்கியமான மனிதன் என்று கூறினான். சுமார் 400 மனிதர்கள் அவனோடு சேர்ந்துகொண்டனர். ஆனால் அவன் கொல்லப்பட்டான். அவனைப் பின்பற்றியவர்கள் சிதறுண்டு ஓடினார்கள். அவர்களால் எதையும் செய்யக் கூடவில்லை.
