Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teaches all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and has polluted this holy place.

இஸ்ரவேலர்களே, உதவிசெய்யுங்கள். நம்முடைய மக்களுக்கும் வேதப்பிரமாணத்திற்கும் இந்த இடத்திற்கும் எதிராக எல்லா இடத்திலும் எல்லோருக்கும் போதித்துவருகிறவன் இவன்தான்; இந்த தேவாலயத்திற்குள்ளே கிரேக்கரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, இந்த பரிசுத்த இடத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தினான் என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.

அவர்கள் உரக்க, “யூத மனிதரே, எங்களுக்கு உதவுங்கள்! மோசேயின் சட்டத்தை எதிர்க்கவும் நம் மக்களுக்கும் தேவாலயத்துக்கும் எதிராகவும் பலவற்றையும் கற்பிக்கின்ற மனிதன் இவன்தான். இம்மனிதன் எல்லா இடங்களிலுமுள்ள எல்லா மனிதருக்கும் இவ்விஷயங்களை உபதேசிக்கின்றான். இப்போது தேவாலயத்துக்கு உள்ளே சில கிரேக்க மக்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறான். இத்தூய ஸ்தலத்தைத் தூய்மையிழக்கச் செய்திருக்கிறான்!” என்றார்கள்.
