And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

இதோ, இப்பொழுதே கர்த்தருடைய கை உன்மேல் வந்திருக்கிறது, கொஞ்சகாலம் நீ சூரியனைப் பார்க்காமல் குருடனாக இருப்பாய் என்றான். உடனே அவன் தன் கண்பார்வையை இழந்தான்; அவன் தடுமாறி, தனக்கு கை கொடுக்கிறவர்களைத் தேடினான்.

இப்போது கர்த்தர் உன்னைத் தொடுவார். நீ குருடனாவாய். சில காலம் வரைக்கும் உன்னால் எதையும் பார்க்க முடியாது. சூரியனிலிருந்து வரும் ஒளியைக் கூடப் பார்க்க முடியாது” என்றான். அப்போது எலிமாஸுக்கு எல்லாம் இருண்டு போயின. பார்க்க முடியாதபடி அங்குமிங்கும் தடுமாறினான். கையால் பிடித்து அவனை வழி நடத்துகிற ஒருவனைக் கண்டு பிடிக்க முயற்சிசெய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.

இதோ, இப்பொழுதே, கர்த்தருடைய கை உன்மேல் வந்திருக்கிறது, சில காலம் சூரியனைக் காணாமல் நீ குருடனாயிருப்பாய் என்றான். உடனே மந்தாரமும் இருளும் அவன்மேல் விழுந்தது; அவன் தடுமாறி, கைலாகு கொடுக்கிறவர்களைத் தேடினான்.
