Nehemiah 1:3
And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

அதற்கு அவர்கள்: சிறையிருப்பில் மீதியாக இருக்கிறவர்கள் அந்த தேசத்திலே கொடிய தீங்கையும் நிந்தையையும் அநுபவிக்கிறார்கள்; எருசலேமின் மதில் இடிக்கப்பட்டும், அதின் வாசல்கள் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டும் கிடக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

ஆனானியும் அவனோடு இருந்த மனிதர்களும், “நெகேமியா, சிறைவாசத்திலிருந்து தப்புவித்து யூதா நாட்டில் வாழ்கிற யூதர்கள் மிகுந்த துன்பத்தில் இருக்கின்றனர். அந்த ஜனங்கள் மிகுந்த தொல்லைகளிலும் அவமானத்திலும் இருக்கின்றனர். ஏனென்றால் எருசலேமின் சுவர் உடைந்து விழுந்தது. அதன் வாசல்கள் நெருப்பால் எரிந்தன” என்றனர்.
