Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go you and preach the kingdom of God.

அதற்கு இயேசு: மரித்தோர் தங்களுடைய மரித்தோரை அடக்கம்பண்ணட்டும்; நீ போய், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக்குறித்துப் பிரசங்கம்பண்ணு என்றார்.

ஆனால் இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி, “மரித்த மக்கள் அவர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமான மரித்தோரைப் புதைக்கட்டும். நீ போய் தேவனின் இராஜ்யத்தைப் பற்றிக் கூற வேண்டும்” என்றார்.
