2 Kings 22:17
Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.

அவர்கள் என்னைவிட்டு, தங்கள் கைகளின் கிரியைகள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் எனக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்க வேறே தேவர்களுக்குத் தூபம்காட்டினதால், என் கடுங்கோபம் இந்த இடத்தின்மேல் பற்றியெரியும்; அது அவிந்துபோவது இல்லையென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

யூத ஜனங்கள் என்னை விட்டுவிட்டு அந்நியத் தெய்வங்களுக்கு நறுமணப்பொருட்களை எரிக்கின்றனர். அவர்கள் எனக்கு மிகுதியான கோபத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறார்கள். அவர்கள் ஏராளமான விக்கிரகங்களை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளனர். அதனால்தான் நான் இவர்களுக்கு எதிராக என் கோபத்தைக் காட்டுகிறேன். என் கோபம் தடுக்க முடியாத நெருப்பைப் போன்று விளங்கும்!’
