2 Kings 19:37
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons stroke him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his position.

ஒரு நாள் சனகெரிப் தனது தெய்வமான நிஸ்ரோகின், ஆலயத்தில் தொழுகை செய்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான். அப்போது அவனை அவனது மகன்களான அத்ரமலேக் என்பவனும் சரேத்சேர் என்பவனும் சேர்ந்து வாளால் கொன்றனர். பிறகு அவர்கள் அங்கிருந்து தப்பித்து ஆரராத் நாட்டிற்கு ஓடினார்கள். சனகெரிப்பிற்குப் பிறகு அவனது மகன் எசரத்தோன் என்பவன் புதிய அரசன் ஆனான்.
