2 Kings 18:4
He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.

எசேக்கியா மேடைகளை பொய்த் தெய்வங்களின் ஆலயத்தை அழித்தான். அவர்களின் ஞாபகக் கற்களையும் கூட உடைத்தான். அசெரியாவின் உருவத் தூண்களை வெட்டிப்போட்டான். மோசே செய்த வெண்கல பாம்பை உடைத்துப் போட்டான். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் அதற்கு நறுமணப் பொருட்களை எரித்தனர். இவ்வெண்கலப் பாம்பானது “நிகுஸ்தான்” என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது. ஏனெனில் அன்றுவரை இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் இந்த வெண்கலப் பாம்பை தொழுதுவந்தனர்.
