And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

இதோ, முறைமையின்படியே ராஜா தூண் அருகில் நிற்கிறதையும், ராஜாவின் அருகில் நிற்கிற பிரபுக்களையும், எக்காளம் ஊதுகிறவர்களையும், தேசத்து மக்கள் எல்லோரும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு எக்காளம் ஊதுகிறதையும் கண்டவுடனே, அத்தாலியாள் தன் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: துரோகம் துரோகம் என்று சத்தமிட்டாள்.

அரசன் வழக்கமாக நிற்கும் தூணருகில் நின்றுகொண்டிருப்பதைக் கண்டாள். அரசனுக்காக அதிகாரிகள் எக்காளம் வாசிப்பதையும் கண்டாள். ஜனங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு இருப்பதையும் பார்த்தாள். அத்தாலியாள் அவள் நிலை குலைந்ததைக் காட்ட தன் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக் கொண்டாள். பின் அவள் “துரோகம்! துரோகம்!” என்று கத்தினாள்.
