2 Chronicles 25:16
And it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Are you made of the king's counsel? forbear; why should you be smitten? Then the prophet ceased, and said, I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this, and have not hearkened unto my counsel.

தன்னோடு அவன் இப்படிப் பேசினபோது, ராஜா அவனை நோக்கி: உன்னை ராஜாவுக்கு ஆலோசனைக்காரனாக வைத்தார்களோ? அதை விட்டுவிடு; நீ ஏன் வெட்டப்படவேண்டும் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அந்தத் தீர்க்கதரிசி அதை விட்டுவிட்டு: நீர் இப்படிச் செய்து, என் ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்காமற்போனதால், தேவன் உம்மை அழிக்க யோசனையாயிருக்கிறார் என்பதை அறிவேன் என்றான்.

அவ்வாறு அந்த தீர்க்கதரிசி பேசி முடித்ததும், அரசன் அவனிடம், “அரசனுக்கு ஆலோசனை சொல்லும்படி உன்னை நியமிக்கவில்லை! ஆகவே சும்மாயிரு. இல்லாவிட்டால் நீ கொல்லப்படுவாய்” என்றான். தீர்க்கதரிசி அமைதியானான். ஆனால் பிறகு, “தேவன் உண்மையில் உன்னை அழிக்க வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்துவிட்டார். ஏனென்றால் நீ தீயவற்றைச் செய்ததோடு எனது ஆலோசனைகளையும் கேட்கவில்லை” என்றான்.
