And the LORD spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,

காத் என்பவன் தாவீதின் தீர்க்கதரிசி ஆவான். கர்த்தர் காத்திடம், “போய் தாவீதிடம், ‘இதுதான் கர்த்தர் கூறியது: நான் உனக்குத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்க மூன்று காரியங்களைத் தருகிறேன். அவற்றில் ஏதாவது ஒன்றைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்க வேண்டும். பிறகு நீ தேர்ந்தெடுத்த முறையிலேயே உன்னைத் தண்டிப்பேன்’ என்று கூறு” என்றார்.
