1 রমণীদের মধ্যে সুন্দরী শ্রেষ্ঠা, তোমার প্রেমিক কোথায় গেছে? তোমার প্রিয়তম কোন দিকে গেছে? আমাদের বল, তাহলে, তাকে খোঁজার ব্যাপারে, আমরা তোমাকে সাহায্য করতে পারি|
2 আমার প্রিয়তম তার মশলার বাগানে গিয়েছে| সে তার বাগানে ঘুরে বেড়াতে ও পদ্ম ফুল তুলতে গেছে|
3 আমি এক মাত্র আমার প্রেমিকের এবং আমার প্রেমিক এক মাত্র আমারই| সে পদ্ম বনে ঘুরে বেড়ায়|
4 হে প্রিয়তমা, তুমি তির্সার মত সুন্দর, জেরুশালেমের মত মনোরম, দুর্গ দ্বারা রক্ষিত নগরীর মত ভয়ঙ্কর|
5 আমার দিকে চেয়ে দেখো না! তোমার দুটি চোখ আমায় অস্থির করে দেয়! তোমার কেশরাশি, গিলিয়দ পর্বতের ঢাল বেযে নেমে আসা একদল ছাগলের মত|
6 তোমার দাঁতগুলো সদ্য স্নাত ছাগীর মত| তারা প্রত্যেকেই য়মজ বত্স জন্ম দিয়েছে এবং একটা মেষও তার শাবককে হারায নি|
7 তোমার গণ্ডদেশ ডালিম ফলের দুটি আধখানা টুকরোর মতো|
8 ষাট জন রাণী বা 80 জন উপপত্নী থাকতে পারে, এমনকি অগণিত তরুণীরাও থাকতে পারে,
9 কিন্তু আমার পরিপূর্ণা, আমার কপোতী অদ্বিতীযা| সে তার মায়ের কাছে অনন্যা, য়ে তাকে জন্ম দিয়েছিল তার সব থেকে প্রিয় সন্তান! যুবতী রমণীরা তার দিকে চেয়ে দেখে এবং তার রূপের প্রশংসা করে| শুধু তাই নয়, রাণীরা এবং উপপত্নীরাও তার প্রশংসা করে|
10 ঐ তরুণী মেযেটি কে? মেযেটি ভোরের আভার মতই উজ্জ্বল| সে চাঁদের মত সুন্দর| সে সূর্য়্য়ের মত উজ্জ্বল| সে শোভাযাত্রার তারাদের মত সম্ভ্রান্ত|
11 উপত্যকার ফল দেখতে আমি আখরোটের বাগানে গেলাম, দেখতে গেলাম দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেতে অথবা ডালিমগাছে ফল ধরেছে কিনা|
12 আমি নিজেও জানতাম না য়ে সে আমাকে রথের ওপর যুবরাজ হিসেবে বসিযেছে|
13 ফিরে এসো, ফিরে এসো শূলম্মীয!ফিরে এসো, ফিরে এসো, যাতে আমরা তোমায় চেয়ে দেখতে পারি| শূলম্মীযের দিকে তুমি কেন তাকিযে দেখ? সে য়ে মহনযিমে বিজয় নৃত্যে মগ্ন|
1 Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.
2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.
3 I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.
4 Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.
5 Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.
6 Thy teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them.
7 As a piece of a pomegranate are thy temples within thy locks.
8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number.
9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.
10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley, and to see whether the vine flourished, and the pomegranates budded.
12 Or ever I was aware, my soul made me like the chariots of Amminadib.
13 Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee. What will ye see in the Shulamite? As it were the company of two armies.

1 পৃথিবীতে মানুষের সংখ্যা ক্রমশঃ বেড়ে চলল| অনেকের অনেক কন্যা হল|
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2 ঈশ্বরের পুত্রেরা দেখল য়ে তারা সুন্দরী| সুতরাং ঈশ্বরের পুত্রেরা যার যাকে পছন্দ সে তাকে বিয়ে করল|এই নারীরা সন্তানের জন্ম দিল|
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 সেই সময় এবং পরবর্তীকালে পৃথিবীতে নেফিলিম জাতীয মানুষরা বাস করত| প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই নেফিলিমরা মহাবীররূপে বিখ্যাত ছিল|”
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 তখন প্রভু বললেন, “মানুষ নেহাতই রক্তমাংসের জীব মাত্র| ওদের দ্বারা আমি আমার আত্মাকে চিরকাল পীড়িত হতে দেব না| আমি ওদের 120 বছর করে আযু দেব|
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 প্রভু দেখলেন য়ে পৃথিবীতে লোকে শুধু মন্দ কাজই করছে| তিনি দেখলেন য়ে লোক সারাক্ষণ মন্দ জিনিসের কথাই চিন্তা করছে|
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 পৃথিবীতে মানুষ সৃষ্টি করার জন্যে প্রভুর অনুশোচনা হল এবং তাঁর হৃদয় বেদনায় পূর্ণ হল|
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 তাই তিনি বললেন, “পৃথিবীতে যত মানুষ সৃষ্টি করেছি সবাইকে আমি ধ্বংস করব| প্রত্যেক মানুষ, প্রত্যেক জানোয়ার এবং পৃথিবীর উপরে যা কিছু চলে ফিরে বেড়ায সব কিছুকে আমি ধ্বংস করব| বাতাসে যত পাখী ওড়ে সেগুলোকেও আমি ধ্বংস করব| কেন? কারণ এই সবকিছু সৃষ্টি করেছি বলে আমি দুঃখিত|”
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8 পৃথিবীতে শুধু একজন মানুষের প্রতি প্রভু সন্তুষ্ট ছিলেন - সে হল নোহ|
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
9 এই হল নোহের পরিবারের বৃতান্ত| নোহ তাঁর প্রজন্মের একজন ভাল ও সত্ মানুষ ছিলেন এবং তিনি সর্বদা ঈশ্বরকে অনুসরণ করতেন|
These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
10 নোহের তিন পুত্র ছিল: শেম, হাম আর য়েফত্|
And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 ঈশ্বর নীচে পৃথিবীর দিকে দৃষ্টিপাত করলেন এবং দেখলেন য়ে মানুষ তা ধ্বংস করেছে| সর্বত্র হিংসাত্মক ক্রিয়াকলাপ|
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 মানুষ দুষ্ট এবং নিষ্ঠুর হয়ে গেছে এবং নিজেদের জীবন নষ্ট করেছে|
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 তাই ঈশ্বর নোহকে বললেন, “সমস্ত লোক ক্রোধ আর হিংসা দিয়ে পৃথিবী পরিপূর্ণ করেছে| তাই আমি সমস্ত জীবন্ত প্রাণীদের ধ্বংস করব| পৃথিবী থেকে সব কিছু মুছে ফেলব|
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 গোফর কাঠ দিয়ে একটা নৌকা বানাও| নৌকোর ভেতরে অনেকগুলি কক্ষ তৈরী করবে এবং কাঠ সংরক্ষণের জন্য বাইরে আলকাতরা লাগাবে|
Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 “নৌকোটা 300 হাত লম্বা, 50 হাত চওড়া আর 30 হাত উঁচু করে তৈরী করবে|
And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 ছাদের থেকে প্রায় 18 ইঞ্চি নীচে একটা জানালা তৈরী করবে| নৌকোর পাশের দিকে একটা দরজা তৈরী করবে| উপরের তলা, মাঝের তলা আর নীচের তলা - এইভাবে নৌকোর তিনটে তলা থাকবে|
A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17 “এবার যা বলছি, মন দিয়ে শোন| পৃথিবীতে আমি এক মহাপ্লাবন ঘটাবো| আকাশের নীচের যত জীবন্ত প্রাণী আছে, সব ধ্বংস করবো| পৃথিবীর সমস্ত কিছুর মৃত্যু হবে|
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
18 কিন্তু তোমার সঙ্গে আমার একটা বিশেষ চুক্তি হবে| তুমি, তোমার স্ত্রী, তোমার পুত্রেরা, তোমার পুত্রবধূরা - তোমরা সবাই ঐ নৌকোতে উঠবে|
But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19 আর পৃথিবীর সমস্ত প্রাণীর থেকে তুমি একটি করে পুরুষ আর একটি করে স্ত্রী বেছে নেবে| তুমি অবশ্যই তাদের নৌকোতে তুলে নেবে এবং তোমাদের সঙ্গে তাদেরও বাঁচিয়ে রাখবে|
And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20 সমস্ত রকম পাখীর এক জোড়া, সমস্ত রকম পশুর এক জোড়া এবং মাটিতে বুকে হেঁটে চলে সেরকম সব প্রাণীর এক-এক জোড়া খুঁজে বের করো| পৃথিবীতে যত রকম জীবজন্তু আছে সে সব গুলোর এক জোড়া স্ত্রী পুরুষ জোগাড় করে তোমার নৌকোতে তাদের বাঁচিয়ে রাখবে|
Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
21 তোমাদের জন্য আর অন্যান্য পশুপাখীর জন্য সমস্ত রকম খাবারও অবশ্যই জোগাড় করে রাখবে|”
And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
22 এই সমস্ত কিছুই নোহ করলেন| ঈশ্বর য়েমন আজ্ঞা দিয়েছিলেন, নোহ সবকিছু ঠিক সেইভাবেই পালন করলেন|
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
