য়ে ঘরটি তিনি দিয়েছিলেন সেই ঘরটিতে দান হিসেবে পাওয়া শস্য, ধুপকাঠি সুগন্ধী বস্তু ও ঈশ্বরের মন্দিরের বাসন-কোসন ছাড়াও দ্রাক্ষারস, লেবীয় গায়কদের ও দ্বাররক্ষীদের ব্যবহারের তেল ও যাজকদের পাওয়া উপহার সামগ্রীগুলি থাকত| কিন্তু তা সত্ত্বেও ইলিয়াশীব ওই ঘরটি তাঁর বন্ধুকে দিয়েছিলেন|

Nehemiah 13:1
সেদিন সবাই যাতে শুনতে পায়, সে ভাবে মোশির বিধি পুস্তকটি উচ্চস্বরে পাঠ করা হয়েছিল| প্রত্যেকে জানতে পারল য়ে, পুস্তকে অম্মোনীয় ও মোয়াবীয় ব্যক্তিদের ঈশ্বরের লোকদের মণ্ডলীতে য়োগ দেবার অনুমতি ছিল না|

Lamentations 1:10
শএুরা তার হাত ধরে টানছে| শএুরা তার সুন্দর জিনিসগুলি ছিনিয়ে নিয়েছে| বিদেশী জাতির লোকরা তার উপাসনালযে ঢুকে পড়েছে| অথচ প্রভু আপনি বলেছিলেন, আমাদের সমাজে যোগ দিতে পারবেন না!

‘হে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা, এদিকে এগিয়ে এসে সাহায্য কর! এ সেই লোক, এই লোকই আমাদের জাতির বিরুদ্ধে বলে বেড়াচ্ছে, আমাদের বিধি-ব্যবস্থার বিপরীত শিক্ষা দিচ্ছে আর এই মন্দিরের বিরুদ্ধেও কথা বলছে৷ এই হল সেই লোক য়ে সর্বত্র এই শিক্ষা দিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছে৷ দেখ মন্দিরের চত্বরে সে গ্রীকদের ঢুকিয়ে এই মন্দির অপবিত্র করেছে!’
